Crowd’s favourite.
If roasted garlic bulbs have not floaded your social media pages then you must’ve been living under a rock! Yes, roasting your garlic bulbs has been a bit of a trend lately but it’s for a good reason. Roasting your garlic makes it so much sweeter and tones down the harsh garlicky flavour that garlic is so well-known for. Removing the harshness of it just makes your garlic bread so much better.
Roasting garlic bulbs definitely requires a bit of patience but trust me, it’s really a ‘set and forget’ and is super delicious. All you really need are some garlic bulbs, olive oil, salt and pepper! Bang it into the oven for an hour in some aluminium foil and you will get the most delicious roasted garlic! It’s simple so no excuses.
Ingredients
1 long bread roll
3 garlic bulbs
100g butter (1 stick), softened
Small handful parsley, finely chopped
Parmigiano reggiano, grated
Salt and pepper
Feel free to use whatever bread you prefer or have on hand.
Method
Chop off the tops of your garlic bulbs to expose the cloves. Drizzle olive oil, sprinkle salt and pepper (to taste) over the exposed bulbs and wrap tightly in aluminium foil. Pop in airfryer or bake in the oven at 190C for 40-45 mins until the bulbs are golden brown and soft.
Slice your choice of bread in half, length wise.
Preheat your oven at 190C with the grill function on.
In a bowl, combine the softened butter, squished-out roasted garlic bulbs, chopped parsley and salt.
Spread butter mixture evenly on the top of your sliced bread and top with grated parmesan cheese. Pop your bread slices into the oven and broil for 10-20 mins (depends on how crunchy/soft you like it).
Cut up in small slices and serve.
