Pizza Garlic Bread

2 of our favourite foods into 1
Yes, you heard that right; we are making cheesy pizza garlic bread – a twist on the traditional garlic bread with some of your favourite pizza toppings. Trust me on this one, it’s really delicious and make for a great crowd pleaser.
There are 3 main components to this dish: Bread, garlic butter and pizza toppings.
- The Bread: Use any good crusty Italian loaf. I used Pane di Casa but Cibatta would also be a great option.
- Garlic butter: butter, garlic, parm, parsley, salt +pep. You could also use roasted garlic if you have some on hand. Please don’t just use the powders, it won’t be enough.
- Pizza toppings: marinara sauce (you could also use passata), low-moisture mozzarella (so that the water doesn’t make your bread soggy) and pepperoni. You could definitely add other toppings of your choice (e.g. olives, pineapple (don’t fight me), etc) but don’t skip out on the honey! Trust me, it’s so good with the pepperoni.
Ingredients
1 loaf of crusty Italian bread (I used Pane di Casa)
150g butter, softened
3-4 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup parmesan, grated
Small handful of parsley, chopped
½-1 cup marinara sauce
Mozzarella cheese, low-moisture
Pepperoni
4tbsp honey (use hot honey if you have)
Method
- Divide your loaf in half, set aside.
- In a bowl, combine butter, garlic, parmesan, parsley, salt and pepper. Divide garlic butter mixture evenly between the 2 halves of bread and spread it on evenly. Broil at 180C/350F for 15-25 minutes or until golden brown (keep an eye on it!)
- Spread on marinara sauce, top with mozzarella and pepperoni, and place into the oven until the cheese is melted and the pepperoni is crispy (roughly another 15 minutes)
- Top with more parsley for garnish and drizzle generously with honey.
